Organic Flowers.

Locally Grown.

All our flowers are grown sustainably in our seaside, granite ledge gardens, right above the beautiful fishing harbor of Stonington, Maine. Each year, we test the soil, then add goat manure, compost and other nutrients as indicated. Starting in April, annuals are raised from seed in the cellar under grow lights, then transplanted into the cutting garden after the last frost. Perennials such as roses and delphinium burst into bloom with the arrival of summer, then get tucked up under seaweed mulch for the blustery winter season.

Growing flowers and sharing them with the people around me has always been a part of my life. Creating and managing the cutting gardens with my family is a labor of love. For me, there’s nothing more satisfying than bringing beauty to my community with blooms I’ve grown and arranged myself.

Fresh cut.

We get out into the field as early as possible on market days, then select and condition our flowers for the longest possible vase life. There’s nothing like cutting armfuls of blooms to wish someone a happy birthday, dress up a dinner table or provide the perfect finishing touch to a beautiful wedding.

From May through October, we offer fresh cut bouquets in the Oceanville Flowers shed.

Stop by Friday, Saturday or Sunday from 9 to 5 for seasonal market bouquets at $20, or be a farm supporter and sign up in advance for our CSA. This year you can choose a monthly subscription for July and/or August. Pick up is Thursday or Friday morning and the price is $80 for each month. Treat yourself to a fresh bunch every week!

What kind of flowers can you expect? The season starts with daffodils, tulips, lilacs and forsythia. June and July bring peonies, iris, snapdragons, then delphinium, larkspur, and marigolds. Later in the summer, the garden is full of sunflowers, dahlias, zinnias, rudbeckia and more. Each week will be a little different as we select the best the gardens have to offer.
